The Enrolled Agent (EA) designation dates back to 1884 when it was created by Congress in an effort to supply a cadre of agents to represent citizens in their claims agains the United States Government. The Enrolled Agent is granted unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The Enrolled Agent designation is the highest credential awarded by the IRS.
In order to become an Enrolled Agent, Dan was required to pass 12 hours of testing administered by the IRS. In addition, EAs must complete 30 hours of continuing education every year. Dan enjoys the continuing education as it enables him to strengthen his tax knowledge and thus better serve his clients.
As an Enrolled Agent, Dan is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents.
